Neil Pinkett Born in the Cornish hard rock mining town of St Just, Neil Pinkett originally worked as a graphic artist in London and Bristol, where he developed the strong graphic style that clearly underpins his dramatically atmospheric oil paintings today. Working mainly with the palette knife, he has been painting full time “and making a living from it” since 1991. He favours the elevated or unusual topographic viewpoint, capturing the play of light on sea, cliffs, coves and, more recently from a hired helicopter above London, the River Thames as part of his “Bridges series”; or from his specially converted studio canoe, looking back at the land from water.
Pinkett is now regarded as one of the foremost land and seascape painters in Cornwall, and exhibits regularly in London and Bath as well as Cornwall.
