Jack Davis
"The relentless power of nature creates order out of chaos. My work seeks to channel that energy and evoke a primal sense of experience: dramatic, dynamic and deep" J.D.
Born 1990 and growing up in the Georgian city of Bath, Jack has been dedicated to his art practice from an early age. Now a tutor at the Newlyn School of Art since graduating from Falmouth University in 2012, he has held 4 solo exhibitions in buildings of historical importance.
Exhibiting nationally and internationally, including the Scope Art Fair Miami, PROTECHT in association with the Whitechapel Gallery, The Threadneedle Prize: Figurative Art Today, Critics Choice Tremenheere Sculpture Garden and was invited to "Sculpture by the Sea" in Cottisloe, Australia. In 2017 he became a member of Newlyn Society of Artists. Understandably, Jack's work has been acquired for private collections worldwide. As the Roundhouse's youngest painter he is certainly one to watch, with a great future ahead of him.
Jack has established a distinct visual language combining a variety of visual marks, textures and layers to create an immersive and expansive response to the Cornish coastline.
